Inner Opposition is a reflection on inner conflict and the struggle for self alignment. In the performance I engage in a symbolic tug of war with myself - tying, pulling, wrestling, to a point exhaustion. Left to ultimately surrender to the tension that exists between the two sides of my own being, I finally set the rope on fire and let it burn to ash. The act represents the push and pull of opposing emotions, desires, and old belief systems that can’t seem to loosen their grip within. Burning the rope signifies an intense effort & elemental ritual to break free from the cycle.
