New Mexico Permaculture & Sustainability Projects
Across Northern New Mexico, I worked between conservation land trust projects and agricultural research and education programs rooted in arid-land ecology, watershed health, and long-term soil care. This included work with the Taos Land Trust and the Alcalde Sustainable Agriculture Science Center at New Mexico State University, where land stewardship, food systems, and field-based research intersect with community and climate resilience.
As a project leader for a youth corps and as an agricultural field technician, I coordinated and supported hands-on field work including restoration planting, irrigation and soil management, and site maintenance across permaculture and research plots. The work moved through food forets, agricultural test fields, and protected land systems, organizing both labor and learning around the practical realities of growing food and restoring land in a high desert environment.
